Bio:
Christie Green, Project Coordinator of Collective Heritage Institute's Restorative Development Initiative, is originally from Anchorage, Alaska. She has come to work at the Collective Heritage Institute from a distinguished educational non-profit organization in Santa Fe, where she acted as a trainee in wilderness workshops specializing in contemplative practices to heighten awareness of the human-environment connection. She also helped the organization’s founder compile and edit her fourth book as well as coordinated year-round educational retreats and workshops. Prior to living in Santa Fe, Christie lived in the California Bay Area, where she worked at Stanford University. Christie has had a life-long relationship with agriculture, as her family has been involved in cattle ranching and wheat farming for three generations. She spent summers working on the family farm in Texas, participating in all levels of harvest and production. Christie attended UC Berkeley where she received her B.A. in U.S. History, specializing in the cultural history and ecology of the western United States and Alaska.
Topics and themes for Conference:
Specific interests/themes/questions relating to the meeting (these may be too broad, but are some quick thoughts): How to create a "virtual community" of aligned organizations, individuals, projects, etc., possibly organized according to certain themes (i.e., green building, restorative ag, responsible business, eco-nomics, etc.)? How do we determine who should be part of a "Green Net"? What, if any, are the criteria? How do we facilitate community-building and real interaction through our websites? (chat rooms, community calendars, events listings, resource directories, membership, etc.) How do we maintain freshness of our sites & material on the sites - what's the latest & greatest, most helpful & informative for visitors? How do we use available technical limitations/liberations to maximize effectiveness of sites? How do we make the info & sites accessible and attractive to unlikely visitors (i.e., Luddites)? How does each organization's site facilitate collaboration with other sites - how to direct visitors to info. sought & suggested actions, etc.? How do we maintain strength & momentum of a "Green Net", including new members, ideas, structure, activity, relay of info via individual sites?
