Bio:

I have a science background with a BS in biology, concentrating on microbiology and biotechnology. Following a few positions at the lab bench (including genetics and chemistry), I found the environment to be an exciting venture while working as an environmental specialist in RCRA enforcement at the state level. After a brief stint with a hazardous waste treatment and disposal company I then went to work for the Global Environment & Technology Foundation as the information systems editor. I have been working for the Foundation for the past three years.

Topics and themes for Conference:

What sounds attractive is exactly what you describe as the focus of this working group - to use the newest tools to reach people with the "green" message. In other words, to help the general public understand the technological advances that can help us live in better harmony with the earth; to show that much work is still ahead of us along the avenues of environmental cleanup, stewardship, policy and technology; and that the environment really is intertwined with everyday life. Topics relating to the accelerated use of new tools as a means of accessing a broader slice of the general public to get this message across would be interesting.
