Alex Barnum is an editor overseeing science, health and environmental coverage at the San Francisco Chronicle, the Bay Area's largest daily newspaper. Most of his career was spent as a writer: He was the Chronicle's environment reporter for four years and, before that, wrote about business and technology for the Chronicle and the San Jose Mercury News. He is a former Knight Science Journalism Fellow at MIT and holds several awards for his reporting. He lives in San Francisco.
